The Final Chapter

Tonight is the ending of an era, as cheesy as it may sound. For five and a half years, my Monday nights and life have been dictated by Gossip Girl, the Upper East Side, headbands, and scheming; more importantly, it's been dictated by a group of characters who have carried me through some of the biggest changes and transitions of my life. The movie room in Vail was rented out every Monday night for the 2008-2009 school year, more fondly known as freshman year. My best friends and I bonded over the story lines, our love for New York, and an affinity for skipping class to add to that headband collection (You're welcome, J. Crew, Anthropologie, and Forever 21).  I've even bonded with people I've never met through talking about GG on here, Twitter, and Facebook. I've learned a lot from this little teen soap. It's taught me to fight for what I believe in, to work hard for what I want, and to never give up on true love. For a few short years, we've all been a part of the Upper East Side. We've dedicated the titles of B, S, Chuck, Dan, Nate, and even Georgina to our friend groups. We've dreamed of eating lunch on the Met steps. We've dreamed of spending our summers in the Hamptons and Paris. We've longed for Chuck Bass. Well, almost six years, major life changes, and an impressive arsenal of headbands later, it's all coming to an end. Tonight, we bid our friend adieu. Tell me what you think when the dust has settled and the headband has been removed.

I can't take it. I am Blair is the new assistant to Stefano Tonchi at W.  I. Die. Those were a very redeeming last 10 minutes. Dream internship, dream job, bing, bang, boom.

Last night's episode..there are no words..especially about the ending. Only grins.

And of course, today's election day, so get out and vote {even though I admittedly forgot to get my absentee ballot in on time this election..shame on me. I'm donning my SoPro elephant headband, though :) }!

Speaking of politics, let's talk about Tories..of the Burch variety, of course. 

 Lesson learned today:  rain+Revas=bad idea.  

Maybe I should have opted for the jellies.  Oh well.

As one of my loveliest friends reminded me, New York Magazine does a "reality index" of each week's Gossip Girl, and mais oui they loved this week's episode.  No doubt because the majority of the scenes take place in the grandest city of all.  

My favorite point? 

• “We don’t need tickets. I’m Chuck Bass.” Okay, fine, this was the right line to end the episode. Best “I’m Chuck Bass” ever. Plus 5.

Words cannot describe how excited I am for the season premiere of Gossip Girl..AHHHH!!!!

I've been waiting four months for this blissful night, and I can't wait!

I hope y'all will be watching tonight..I'm sure it won't disappoint!

...after all, B and S have gone to gay ole Paris!

good morning, upper east siders.

Well, after re-watching the season three finale of Gossip Girl (season three? has it really been that long?), I’ve come to realize that this show makes me ride emotions like a roller coaster.  Seriously…Josh Schwartz, you’re wreaking havoc on my poor little ole heart.  

Through the course of this one episode, I (endearingly known by my friends as Blair or B, I might add) decided to change my allegiance from Chuck Bass, the always perfectly-styled-in-bowtie-and-suit, debonair gentleman (ahem..well, he dresses like one anyway..), to ruggedly perfect Nate, with those soulful eyes, and then back to Chuck..ya know..since he got down on one knee and everything.  See what I mean? Roller.Coaster.  

So of course, being the loyal fan (obsessed? me? nooo….) that I am, I’ve spent pretty much the past summer creeping online (i.e. TV Fanatic) trying to gain even an ounce of dish on the upcoming season.  What I’ve found out?  Chuck and Nate still look GOOD, and S and B’s journey to gay ole Paris seems to have been successful, but hold up!  Chuck has a new girl.  Well..you didn’t really think Chuck and Blair would get back together that soon, did you?  Well, I won’t rest until the world’s greatest love story is back in print. ha. Just kiddin'..but ya get my point, right? 

Can you get anymore Blair? Nope. That's why this is my new pride and joy.

 Oh, and Dan may have nixed Blair's headband collection and all, but mine is ridin' 28 deep, and numbers 29-35 are currently in my Forever21 checkout bag.  So let's hope Blair's move to Columbia this fall serves her head well.  It's time for the tiara..I mean headband...to be returned to Queen B.  We're batting in the Ivy League now, B.
