steal magnolias*

It's that time of year again! I love the holiday season, almost to an unhealthy level.
Hot apple cider and homemade eggnog, a wood-burning fireplace with needlepoint stockings gracing a mantle of magnolia leaves, crystal, and glittery ornaments--these are the things that make the season.
Well, swanky as ole Beeson dorms are (ha...not), we don't have fireplaces. Or mantles. But thanks to a dear friend who ran across campus with me in the middle of the night to score some magnolia leaves, I'm just gonna pretend that the window sill is a mantle.

...Too bad I can't open my window..
It's worth it.
'Tis the season!

*title is a total play on one of the best movies of all time.  and because I technically stole the leaves...

  1. Haha! Resembles the mantles you grew up with, Miss Priss! I am proud of you for carrying on the family tradition in your dorm room. You ARE a Steel Magnolia, and I would love to have seen you picking magnolia leaves in the middle of the night! Just don't read "Twas the Night Before Christmas." That is still my job! Cider will be ready for you when you get here Tuesday.
    I love you,
    Mom
