on the bright side.

Well, it turns out I was wrong. For most of the country, the cold is here, and I can't say that I'm sad about that. I love the cold, but here are some cold weather pieces that leave you excited for Spring, drinks to warm you up, and a few extras to put a spring (pun intended) in your step. Pull out your brightest color of Essie, and throw on one of these punchy pieces while you sip your luscious drink!

bow hunting.

It's no secret that I prefer my men in bow ties, but it wasn't until I was browsing through the latest issue of Matchbook that I discovered Pierrepont Hicks ties.  Always on the hunt for new bow ties to share with my friends who oblige my obsession, this was a find. With a full line of ties and bow ties, this company has quickly warmed its way into my heart.  These are some of my favorites-- amongst them  grosgrain, tartan, camel and a reversible red and navy gingham bow that every Samford guy and/or American patriot with an affinity for bow ties should be rockin' this summer and football season.  Ranging from casual to formal, they've gotcha covered..or tied...

Most of the bow ties are reversible, meaning you get two in one-- aka a bargain. Guys, jump on it.

And in case ya need help tying your bow on, Bearings has ya covered too.

The Matchbook Girl: responds gracefully.

This really bugs me.
NY Times.
This makes me happy.
June, Matchbook Magazine.

Leave it to the New York Times to discount an entire industry and not do their research.  #fact #checker?

Leave it to the Matchbook mavens, Jane and Katie, to have a graceful & informed response for their vast, loyal readership.
Every girl should be a Matchbook girl.

lucky strike.

I cannot get enough of April's issue of the online magazine Matchbook.  It's like Kate Spade meets Elle and Southern Living. My favorites this month are the encyclopedia of pearls and the Chanel No. 5 article. Tres chic.

"After all, Matchbook girl, the world is your oyster--you'll need the perfect pearls."
