on track.

via

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,  for those who are called according to his purpose."
-Romans 8:28

It's funny how God affirms the truths that he's spoken to us in the sweetest of ways. Last week, our Sunday school teacher taught a lesson at bible study on grace and our purpose. The more he went on, the more my ears perked up. I had downright had this exact message spoken to my heart almost exactly one year ago.
If you've already read it, reread this.
It's truth.
God's truth.

We all need to be reminded of it. To not let Satan stand in the way of our purpose. Persevere. There is no mess too big for God to get you out of and use for his glory. He longs for you, whether you've been walking with Him day by day or have gone astray. It doesn't matter if you're "on track," "off track," or "on the wrong side of the tracks." God is the track. He is there. He is waiting for you. Longing for you.  Longing for you to get on the track with Him. Ride life together. Today is the day to submit to God's call, despite the lies being whispered in your ear. Listen to the truth instead.

long time, no sea.

As my punny title suggest, I am spending my summer at the beach.. hard life, I know. I got myself a little job in Rosemary, which is my new absolute favorite part of 30-A. Seriously, come visit. You won't be sorry. I've been blowing up the Instagram world 24/7 with obnoxious photographing, but if you haven't been subjected to my flooding of photos, without further ado, my summer thus far:

Need I say more?
On my way to monogrammers anonymous.
There is no beach quite like the Gulf.
Read. This. Book. Amazing. And a quick read.
Hello, summer job.
God's glory, shining through in Rosemary.
...and in Calif.. I mean, Alys.
My Lilly obsession is alive and kicking and much more dangerous since,
A. this dress exists,
B. This pattern exists,
C. There's a Lilly store 3 miles away.
This picture from Classy Girls Wear Pearls had me
on the hunt for this Lilly necklace.
Lilly Pulitzer Shell Yeah necklace. Everything about this is perfect,
especially the fact that it is also a bottle opener. Yep.
I don't even drink anything with a bottle cap, but that HAS to come in handy somehow.
Trying to convince myself as I type this to not drive to Watercolor and buy.
A small Tory Burch purchase with my first paycheck. Emphasis on small.
Finding more and more peace in the fact that whatever God wants to happen will happen,
and that if it is meant to be,  He will make it happen.
Also, obsessed with Pinterest and quotes.

when the sun goes down.

My mom took this picture on our most recent trip to the beach.  It was taken right at the bay bridge, and I think it's a perfect reminder on this Sunday of God's glory.

paved in gold.

There is something breathtaking and magical about sunsets.  They envelop everything in their path with golden rays of the most amazing shades of pink and orange. They make me feel God’s presence more than anywhere or any other time.  There is absolutely no place I’d rather be than on a front porch, rocking with a glass of sweet tea and a beautiful setting sun, soaking up His glory.
Last night on my way home, the road became drenched in honey-soaked rays, and it made me literally gasp in awe of His creation.  Then I got to thinking about how it says in the Bible that the roads in Heaven are paved in gold; maybe this is God’s way of reminding us to keep our eyes on Him.  To seek His kingdom first.  To recognize His beauty and to bask in the glory of a Mighty Creator.  Maybe it’s His way of telling us to slow down and realize that there are more important things in life than being on go constantly.  Yep.  There’s something powerful in a sunset.  Meet me on the front porch swing tonight, and I’ll show ya.  I’ll bring the sweet tea.
