on track.

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,  for those who are called according to his purpose."
-Romans 8:28

It's funny how God affirms the truths that he's spoken to us in the sweetest of ways. Last week, our Sunday school teacher taught a lesson at bible study on grace and our purpose. The more he went on, the more my ears perked up. I had downright had this exact message spoken to my heart almost exactly one year ago.
If you've already read it, reread this.
It's truth.
God's truth.

We all need to be reminded of it. To not let Satan stand in the way of our purpose. Persevere. There is no mess too big for God to get you out of and use for his glory. He longs for you, whether you've been walking with Him day by day or have gone astray. It doesn't matter if you're "on track," "off track," or "on the wrong side of the tracks." God is the track. He is there. He is waiting for you. Longing for you.  Longing for you to get on the track with Him. Ride life together. Today is the day to submit to God's call, despite the lies being whispered in your ear. Listen to the truth instead.

dry county.

I'm having visions of perfectly blown out, southern coif-fectioned hair after seeing Drybar's Southern Belle volumizing mousse in the Wall Street Journal. What's in a name? A lot. Give me a clean design, a buttery color, and a southern moniker, and I'll buy just about anything. I feel like my baby fine hair is about to take flight. One use, and I bet you'll be blessin' someone's heart.

Via Adweek. The sketches show one woman's perception of herself versus a stranger's perception.

I came across the latest installment of the Dove campaign on Adweek yesterday, and to me it is so powerful. Dove hired a criminal sketch artist to sketch women twice, once based upon a stranger's description of the woman and the second based upon the woman's description of herself. The results showed that the women's perceptions of themselves were astonishingly different than the strangers'. The work drives home the truth that women really don't see their true beauty like others do. It's an impactful take on Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty, and it is one that everyone, women particularly, should see.

taste the rainbow.

“This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
-Genesis 9:12-17

For a couple of weeks I had been praying for a rainbow..how cool are they? Every time we see a rainbow we are reminded of the Lord's covenant – his promise – to us. How cool is it that the Lord created a physical sign as beautiful as a rainbow and that it is still displayed thousands and thousands of years later? So. Cool. And, a rainbow remains one of nature's phenomenons, making this sign even sweeter. My morning was made and blessed last week on my daily dash to work. I walked outside and stopped in my tracks to gasp at this beautiful sight. I love these sweet reminders of the Lord's glory, grace, and promises fulfilled

pucker up.

I'm all about a bold lip. Apparently I'm not the only one either. The look has been all over the runways, and it even made its way into the Wall Street Journal. Apparently in times of economic downturn, people turn to little luxuries, just like a brand new shiny tube of Chanel or Tom Ford. It's the perfect way to add a pop to any look, and it's such an easy way to be bold and make a change. The only problem now is deciding what color to wear...
