ANN MASHBURN

via Ann Masburn website.

You all know my love for Sid Mashburn; anyone within earshot who’s looking for a great men’s store around Atlanta knows my love for Sid Mashburn. Well, the style doesn’t stop there for the Mashburn family. Sid’s wife, Ann Masburn, opened her own namesake shop not too long ago. Ann, a former fashion editor and stylist, is as chic and cool as a woman can be, and her store is no exception. In true Mashburn fashion, Ann’s store is just as unique as Sid’s, but with a boutique-y, feminine twist.  Just her book list alone is enough to make a girl swoon—she has every book I’ve been dying over— but her private label, as well as other fabulous labels, are absolutely exquisite. If you find yourself in Atlanta, visit her boutique, and stop by Sid’s, too.

make yourself at home.

I came across this video the other day, and at the glance of the name "Sid Mashburn," my eyes perked up. Forty minutes may seem a little lengthy, however for anyone looking to differentiate themselves, whether in business or life, Sid gives some great principles. It's all about your service-- knowing your client inside and out, knowing how big your target market is, differentiating your service delivery, and making sure quality is top notch. It was also cool to hear him talk about how important his people are. I blog about Sid a lot because I think he's a really cool guy who has a lot figured out; his style is impeccable and his service is unmatched. It's really cool to get a glimpse into his mind and see how the company started and has progressed so successfully, as well as see how he got his start. Show me a cooler guy. I dare ya.

“We like to wear everything a little more nonchalant. Even though the clothes are closer to my body, there is still an ease about everything we do. I don’t want anything looking too perfect.”

With a smooth southern accent and impeccable style, Sid Mashburn has created a cult following with his namesake store in Atlanta.  Reminiscent of that exquisite style and service of yore, Sid has created and staffed a shop of certifiable old school haberdashers.  If anyone knows menswear and has the sartorial calling, it's Sid, who combines the best of southern and European styles into the most glorious looks. Sid also recently completed his own in house line of suits.
