pop. fizz. clink.

This Kate Spade video popped, fizzed, and clinked onto my screen this morning, and it is just holiday champagne confection. Raise a glass to all things glitz, glamour, glitter, and gold, and to the coming holiday season. What better way to kick off the season? Cheers!

first impressions

Way to go, J. Crew--appealing to my Impressionist love by naming these jeweled fan drop earrings "Matisse blue." C'est parfait!

Goldilocks

I've been on the hunt for the perfect holiday dress ever since I set eyes on this gorgeous emerald silk dress from Alexandra Vidal. I've been searching high and low for the perfect dark green, wine or black dress. I love a dramatic back, and long sleeves and lace are a plus. This search is proving difficult-- more like the story of Goldilocks-- too dramatic, too boring, too short, too long, too cheap looking or too expensive. Now if only I could find that "just right" dress. These have made it to the top of the pile. What's your favorite go-to holiday dress?

Anthropologie "Margaux" (favorite!)

Urban Outfitters "Darcy Dotty" --so close to being the winner.
Mod Cloth "Trims of the Trade"
Urban Outfitters

Anthropologie "Byzantine Laced Sheath"

Anthropologie "Caldora"

baby got back.

After my graduation dress, a new Loft purchase, and the countless repins and reblogs I've made over the past few months, it's become evident I have a new obsession. I guess it's that it's a refreshing and unexpected way to show to some skin in a subtle and ladylike way, a way that Jackie O and Audrey Hepburn were on board with, that makes me love it. That's a stamp of approval if you ask me.

the right tulles.

When Matchbook's Jane Lilly Warren Instagrammed a picture of the cutest pair of flats from the Loeffler Randall sale, I had to click over and check it out. I've never made the plunge for the real deal, but honestly, the LR for Target flats I got in high school lasted me about 3x as long as my Tory Burch Revas.. and were about a $200 price difference. Ergo, I have a sweet spot for their styles. Speakin' of sweet, the satin on these caught my eye, but that tulle is just beyond perfect for a perfect ballerina touch for Spring. I'm thinking these would be perfect wedding/Easter shoes. And for half the original price, no less. Can't help but think of Carrie Bradshaw when I see them. I feel like the stiletto queen would approve.

fairest (isle) of them all.

It's no secret that winter clothes are my absolute favorite. Tweed, Bean Boots and cable knit galore reign supreme over fashion during the colder months. The one winter staple that I've yet to make mine, though, is the fair isle sweater. Fun and functional, the fair isle is the preppiest way to stay warm. OPH approved.

plaid.

The trees are going up, and that extra ten pounds from Thanksgiving is firmly implanted for the winter. It's time for my favorite time of the year! Flannel plaid and tartan ties in Christmas red and green help to signal the coming season. Pull on your plaid scarf, and curl up with some cider. Nothin' says Christmas like a hearty dose of tartan, right?

foxy.

It's the elementary school question we all were asked year after year: "If you were an animal, what would you be?" My answer is the fierce and furry fox, and it seems I'm in good company.
