prepare the way.

Paper Bag Calendar

Today marks the first Sunday of Advent, meaning the Christmas season in its purest form is officially under way. This is a time of expectation, preparation, and joy in the knowledge that our Savior has come and will come again. If you're like me, you're posted up in a dorm for the next two weeks, and a physical advent calendar is not in the cards. Enter Trinity Wall Street with a great online version. They really put a lot of time and thought into their calendar. YouVersion Bible app also has Advent reading plans. Though you can buy an Advent calendar (that Starbucks one is pretty enticing..), many of the newer pre-made ones lose their focus from a time of expectation of Jesus to receiving trinkets and goodies. The most fun calendars I've found are DIY. They are perfect because you can tailor them to your needs and add whatever verses or passages, as well as treats, as you want. Whatever way you choose, rejoice in this time of preparation and expectation! It truly is the greatest season of the year.

O Come, O Come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel

Trinity Wall Street's online Advent
calendar features a bible passage and a sound clip
with background information on the passage.
This is just one of 50 DIYs...Craft away!

Love the simplicity of this one
