lost and found

“Always dream and shoot higher than you know you can do. Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself.” –William Faulkner

Wise words from a wise man. The love for this Southern Gothic novelist reaches its peak in the land of his Southern roots, so imagine my delight when I opened up my email, only to find that my Garden & Gun newsletter was a feature on William Faulkner.  The Voice of Faulkner links to a newly archived set of recordings of Faulkner from a series of discussions at UVA—almost thirty hours of this Mississippi native’s smooth southern drawl.  The set of recordings feature question and answer sessions, among readings and lectures.  Sign me up!  I probably spent an hour just sitting and soaking up his wit and charm.  For readers and lovers of history, this archive is a find!  Soak in his liquid accent, and who knows—maybe you’ll find yourself transported to Yoknapatawpha County.
