Coming off the coattails of my post from earlier, Bill Cunningham said it best:
"Money's the cheapest thing. Liberty, freedom is the most expensive thing."
My friend shared a tweet with me the other day to the effect of, "Scores of soldiers died today, but the only thing being reported on the news right now is Kim Kardashian's divorce." That struck a major chord with me. So many of us take the freedom we have for granted. Not only freedom, but the means in which we have obtained freedom. Can we even say "we" though? Really, it's by the lives of a part of our society, their bravery and courage, that we are free. It's so great that we have a day set aside to honor these people. We should honor them every day, but on this special day, to the hundreds of thousands of men and women who have fought for us since the beginning of this great country, thank you. We wouldn't be the people, nor the country, we are without you. You make us proud to be Americans. God bless you all.
Beautifully written. We owe so much to those that fought to save our country in every capacity, many giving the ultimate sacrifice.
